Forest & Nature Therapy walks on Salt Spring Island
Experience Forest and Nature Therapy at Sacred Mountain Lavender Farm. Located on the foothills of sacred Mount Tuam on the south end of Salt Spring Island, the 36 acre farm consists of organic lavender fields, horse pastures and old growth trees. Established in 2001, the farm has been growing organic lavender for over 20 years. Join me for a guided forest therapy walk through the beautiful lavender fields and sacred forest trails on the property (not generally open to the public). We will finish our walks with special lavender tea from the farm shop and a light snack. Walks are 2.5 hours in length. It is suggested to wear comfortable closed toe walking shoes and long pants as we will be walking through forested areas. Visit the farm shop afterwards and bring home something special. The lavender farm is also location #1 on the Salt Spring Studio Tour Map and the address is 401 Musgrave Rd. Ruckle Provincial Park is one of the most beautiful parks in BC, overlooking the Southern Gulf Islands and Salish Sea. Located within the oldest working farm in BC, amongst a west coast Rainforest, it features magnificent old growth trees, beautiful ocean views, eagles, herons, seals and many other nature beings. Visit the many farm stands and artisans on your way to the park!
Burgoyne Bay Park is located on the west side of Salt Spring Island and is adjacent to Mount Maxwell Park and Mount Maxwell Ecological Reserve. It is abundant in hiking trails with beautiful old growth Cedars, Douglas Fir and Garry Oaks, rocky shorelines with magnificent ocean views, and open grasslands abundant in native Rosehip and Hawthorne trees.
The above are some suggested spaces to experience forest therapy on Salt Spring Island. However, I am able to create a unique walk anywhere in nature.

For all Forest Therapy walks, please dress for the weather. In the summer months a hat and sunscreen is recommended, as well as a light jacket and long pants, as the forested areas can still be cool even in warm weather. Please also wear appropriate foot wear, as the trails where we are walking my be uneven in some areas. In the colder months gloves, hats, scarves, rain wear and warm footwear, and dressing in layers, are all highly recommended for your comfort. You may also want to bring a water bottle. I will provide sitting pads.
