Kelly Kiss and professional wildlife & nature photographer Dave Hutchison, offer forest bathing experiences and photo tours in various remote locations in the Sooke to Port Renfrew West Coast Corridor on Vancouver Island.  Experience some of British Columbia's oldest forests and trees! Perfect for nature enthusiasts, nature photographers, or those just wanting to have photo memories of their time in nature!

Kelly offers a unique guided forest bathing experience and Dave provides beautiful photographs of your memorable time.  If you are an amateur or professional photographer wanting a lesson or tips in capturing the forest through the lens, Dave can support you.  Dave is an award winning professional wildlife and nature photographer.  If you are curious about his stunning photographs please visit his website.

Together Dave and Kelly combine their love of the forest to offer you a once in a lifetime experience.  Please note that this is not a typical guided forest bathing walk as we cover more distance than usual.  These walks are for able bodied participants as we will be in remote areas that are not generally accessed by the public.  For more details, cost and availability please contact Kelly.

Guided Forest & Nature Therapy walks with Kelly Kiss, ANFT Certified Forest Therapy Guide. Experience some of Vancouver Island’s oldests forests and natural beauty while deepening your connection with yourself and nature. The practice of Forest Therapy is an “immersion” into the space of trees, plants and the beings of the forest and is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku. Research shows that if practiced regularly, forest bathing can decrease stress, boost immunity, heighten mood, enhance creativity, improve sleep, and promote overall peace and calmness in your daily life.  Learn more about forest therapy here.

For as long as Kelly can remember she has had a deep connection to trees and has been forest bathing.  In the summer of 2018 she travelled to California to acquire her formal certification through the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy Guides & Programs .  Kelly also holds a twenty hour remote wilderness first aid and CPR training through Red Cross.

Dave Hutchison has been a professional photographer based on Vancouver Island for over 18 years.  He offers private customized tours for photographers and tourists alike that want to explore & create in the difficult to find locations on Vancouver Island.  The service includes Dave, his Acura MDX SUV, and bottled water.  He also has a built-in fridge in the SUV to make your experience more enjoyable (cold water on hot days!).  Pick up and drop off at the Victoria International Airport or BC Ferries terminal at Swartz Bay (Sidney / North Saanich) is also available on request.

Adventure Photo Tours are offered on a full day and half basis with multiple days being accepted now.  Note, mileage is additional and billed separately and varies depending on where we travel on the Island and current price of fuel.  Vancouver Island can take around 8 hours to drive from top to bottom ... and that is one way!  Additionally, Dave is ICBC insured and licensed to transport people for adventure tours.  His vehicle is also ICBC safety inspected every 6 months.

I would like to acknowledge the land where I am living ~the unceded territory and ancestors of the Coast Salish Peoples of Salt Spring Island and surrounding areas who continue to use and steward the lands and waters of the Salish Sea. These include the traditional land of the local Hul'qumi'num Treaty Group (Cowichan, Halalt, Lyackson, Cowichan Lake, Penelakut), and Saanich First Nations
(Tsartlip, Tseycum, and Tswaout).
